Wayne Walker Conservation Consulting (“WWCC”) specializes in helping mitigate ecological risk while delivering net environmental benefits to society. We work with key stakeholders in the wildlife and energy communities at the national, regional and project level, to assess and quantify the value of local ecosystems in the service of delivering financially feasible solutions to complex environmental challenges.
Wayne Walker’s extensive experience as a project developer in the renewable energy business uniquely qualifies him to work at this intersection of energy and the environment. During his seven year tenure at Horizon Wind Energy as Director of Project Development for the Southwest Region of the United States (Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas & Colorado), Wayne managed over $600M worth of projects now operating or to be constructed in 2008, totaling 425 MW.
Wayne has played a leading role in policy development in the fields of Siting and Transmission with the wind industry’s national trade association, the American Wind Energy Association “AWEA.” Wayne has been working diligently with industry, agency, wildlife and environmental stakeholders since January 2008 to make the American Wind and Wildlife Institute (“AWWI”) a reality.
